| Community Supported AgricultureFor the last ten years we have provided a weekly summer share of vegetables to families in the Freeport area.
What
is Community Supported Agriculture Community Supported Agriculture, or CSA, is a concept that lets you buy a “share” of our farm, and have the opportunity to eat fresh organic vegetables as they come into season. It’s a way to experience the way people used to eat, before mass transportation, with the added benefit that we grow a large number of varieties of the different vegetables to keep things interesting.
How
Does Our CSA Work? We offer two share sizes to help you best fit your family’s needs. The full share is $450, and the three-quarter share is $350. The larger share provides slightly more vegetables every week. You select the size you prefer, and then we will provide a bag of vegetables to your family every week for 20 weeks. You can pick up your share at the farm on Thursday afternoons between 3:30 and 6:00 PM. If you prefer, we can deliver your share to your home or business (Freeport only) for an additional $50. Over the course of the summer
you will receive some of everything we grow to try in your favorite recipes.
You will receive the same high quality specialty vegetables that we grow
for chefs at some of the finest restaurants in Portland.
Depending on the vagaries of the weather, some years end up being great
for broccoli, or bad for lettuce, and the "share” that you receive
reflects those differences. We do
our best to even things out, but the
contents of each share vary from year to year.
